400F Frame - Steel type/filler rod recommendation
« on: July 27, 2019, 02:41:15 PM »
I've searched this forum (and the net) looking for this info. I apologize in advance if my questions has been addressed elsewhere.
I purchased a 400F frame that needs most of it's tabs welded back on, including the side stand tab. Luckily, whomever cut the tabs kept them. Seems like the frame was going to be used for a cafe project...although I can't figure out why someone would leave the centre stand tabs but cut off the side stand tab.   :o ??? ::)    Regardless, what type of tubes are used on the 400F? I suspect mild steel and not chrome moly. Any recommendations on a filler rod to use, I'll be TIG'ing.  Thanks in advance.

"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of it's victim may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated, but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience." - C.S. Lewis
