Now on to the clutch adjustment. Clutch seems to work fine but after sitting 35 years I'm thinking the clutch needs servicing.

Lots of bikes you see for sale on Craigslist were bikes that were working fine, but someone decided to take apart anyway to 'service' and never put back together. A clutch that is working fine doesn't need to be taken apart. Feel free to do a regular adjustment, but stop trying to fix something that ain't broke.

If you meant going after the clutch discs, don't unless warranted.   The cam screw mechanism in the left cover over the chain sprocket is another matter.  That has to operate freely.
