Carb troubles, '79 650
« on: July 29, 2019, 11:09:45 AM »
I own a ’79 CB650, and I have a couple of carb fuel bowls (Keihin) that drip fuel constantly.  No, it is NOT fuel from the over-flow tube; it is the bowl drain screw itself.  I have cleaned everything, but they still drip. My questions that I’m having a hard time getting answers for are:

Is there a replaceable seal for the drain screw?  (It’s very hard to see it, if there is one!)
Is the seal available by itself?  Or is it included in the seal kit for the whole carb?
How is the old seal removed and the new one installed?

Please help!

Thanks,
-Dutch

There is a little o ring on that screw to seal it on every bowl. Should be very easy to see if its there.
The FSM is available online for free. Just google CB650 manual. its the first or second result. chapter 4 is fuel system and shows a break down of the carbs. Id screenshot it for you but im on the computer at work lol
