Topic: Help with crankcase bearing

I've tried reinstalling the crankcase bearing but for some reason it does not want to go back in. I know it's the right bearing and everything but once I get it halfway in it just stops moving and if I try to spin the inside with my finger its having trouble turning from all the pressure. So I've ordered a new one in case I've damaged this one. If someone has some advice for getting it back in easily plz let me know.

Hi, that bearing doesn't fit flush with the case, it sticks out similar to what you have there. The easiest way to tell if it is seated, is to look at the back side off it and see if is hitting the case. Some heat in that area would allow it to slip right in, and make sure it's not cocked as you drive it in.

Heat case and drop bearing in from above when case is horizontal.

What folks said above and I would put bearing in freezer overnight.  Get area of case heated and quickly put cold bearing in.  Between the heat expanding the hole and the cold shrinking the bearing it should go right in and seat.
