i have a 1980 CB70 just got the carbs redone, the bike idles fine and runs well in neutral, when in first it wont go more than a slow crawl and wont accelerate in in any other gear. i get no response at all no matter how much gas i give it. the bike will shift through the gears fine, i do have a leak on my valve cover and the mechanic at the shop said that was probably the issue because i didn't have a good seal and that was preventing the engine from producing any power.  but that doesn't sound right to me. when in neutral the bike seemed responsive would rev fine and idle fine.  new working on motorcycles any help would be greatly appreciated

 1980 is DOHC.

Sounds like a slipping clutch. Have you tried adjusting the utch?
