Working on a 1970 HONDA CB750K0 ............................... bought from second owner about 5 years ago in SEYMOUR,CONNECTICUT.
Shipped the bike back here to Memphis and rode it for a while, then complete dis-assembly coming back with it now. Powder Coated gloss black frame, NOS handlebars, getting ready for paint work soon. I need some ideas from other restorers, trying to decide if I want to paint the bike in CANDY RED or CANDY GOLD or the rare GREEN color. Also, need some advice on the GAS TANK STRIPES, should be paint them on or get the DECALS ?
This bike had the original unstamped Honda exhaust system, some rusting at the welded joints where the mufflers join the exhaust pipes.
Is there any one out there that knows how to repair an exhaust system like this and re-chrome ? I have heard lots of stories about filling in the rusted areas with BRASS and then re-chrome.
If there is anyone out here in the Memphis area or nearby Arkansas or Mississippi that is interested in these old Honda bikes, drop me an e-mail.
THANKS,
Mark

Hey bud, sorry I moved. I used to live near Brighton off of Austin Peay Hwy, bout 20 miles from Mem. Anyway, the gold or green would be nice w/ nice think metal flake. Maybe even Rootbeer!!! lol. Well, re-chroming stuff is very expensive, more so probably than buying a new exhaust. (unless you know a chromer then I would do the whole bike) When I bought my old 53 PU in Ripley I looked in to getting stuff chromed around Memphis and it was expensive. Gave up. Anyway, good to hear from a good ol boy! Take care bro!
