Broken nipples on rear wheel dampers
« on: August 01, 2019, 08:47:31 AM »
I broke 3/8 nipples on the smaller dampers.  Can I still use them without the nipples holding them in.  Looks like the hub hasting may hold them there when assembled?

Picture below.  Hoping I can reuse these as I can't find them.

The nipples are only there to make it easier to install the drive hub. If you check Ebay there are several sources that sell them. The later model style with the pieces connected in pairs by a flap of rubber work in the earlier hubs too.

What I did with mine was use a light smear of grease to hold them in place while I slid the drive into the hub. Once the hub is in place they can't move anyway.

Good to know, I'll just reuse what I have then.
