Fuel tank identification
« on: August 05, 2019, 11:28:38 AM »
The tank that came with my 1977 cb550 does not appear to be the one for that year. Does anyone know what model and year the tank is so I can buy a new petcock for it (after i clean up the rust :p).

Thanks!

Looks like the original color was gold, what year did they use that color. Google would probably bring that up quickly. Know they made a 500 in gold and of course in the mighty 750. Another picture of the whole tank not upside down would be helpful to see where the gas cap goes and the overall shape  ;)

That ia a honda cb 750 k2 tank.
Original colour candy gold.

A honda cb 500 or 550 did not have clips to hold the 'chrome' trim at the underside of the tank.

You will need an early cb 750 fueltap.

What’s the clips at the bottom. I’ve never those before. My 77 550F does have them?

That's a 750 tank. Does it even fit the 550?
