92 gl1500 trike
« on: July 14, 2019, 09:02:40 PM »
My brother is looking at this, the price is good at 5K it's sat for a year and half since the PO passed away. I'm not sure the brand of the kit but my question is it reasonable to add a reverse to one? This doesn't seem to have it.
Turns out an interstate didn't have reverse in 92, the price is 5K turn key after the seller pays a shop to get it running and tuned up.

Seems like a bargain for any wing trike but that's going by Aussie prices

I thought the reverse kit on them worked through the starter motor, you leave it in gear, turn the engine off and the starter turned backwards thus propelling your satanic abomination in a negative forward direction
Could be wrong though, I'm an idiot
Is there pictures ?
Can I have a ride ( when I sober up anyway )
i blame Terry

It's apparently an interstate and none had reverse nor can it reasonably be added. The owner  refuses to allow us to roll it away from the wall to look under the back and our favorite bike shop stopped pulling 1500 carbs 2 years ago. He will however clean them if we remove them first.
The deal is in limbo. may be easily solved if she would charge/change the battery so we could attempt to start it. Her hubby had tractors and lawn equipment so he may have pickled the carbs with some stabil or other carb savior gunk. There's every possibility we could start it and ride it home.

If you do get it and need to pull the carbs you will need a long cross point screwdriver and a set of double joint long nose pliers with a 90 degree tip, makes getting them off and on much easer.

Thanks my brother took a spill walking and scared himself out of riding even on three wheels. It may be for the best but usually after a few weeks he reconsiders.
