Too true lol. I've had mine on and off a dozen times in the past month. Gotta love a project bike.

  Ha Ha -  I have learned to wear leather gloves when I tackle carbs,especially for the first time on a new 750 project. Don't forget to heat those rubbers with a  heat gun-heat gun-heat gun !

HA!  +1 I always use gloves too!   And new rubbers help...

So true! Last time I got a hot plate with a small pot of water boiling in the shop. Set everything up next to the bike. Boiled up the rubber connectors for a few minutes (I had everything laid out and a small amount of silicone grease on the spigots and carbs. Everything just popped on in seconds..... try it. It works!

  The air box on a 750 is no big deal as you can totally remove it in a couple of minutes and get it out of the way.  Its the design of the small bore 500/550's and others that make it a real pain in the old you new what.
