Posting an Ad
« on: August 27, 2024, 06:42:02 PM »
Hi,

Is there a rule regarding how many posts a person has to have or how recently has a person been active in the forums before posting in the classified ad section?  I tried three times to post a classified ad, and each time I hit "post" the page came back to the original new topic page without the ad being posted.

I sent a PM to an admin, but did not get a reply.

Thanks!

No, there are no such restrictions on placing ads. It should work the same as starting a new topic like you did here.

Sometimes when I have tried to post with image or too many images I get this failure. You can edit and add images after an initial post

Good point David. Sometimes it's more a matter of the size of the pics than the number of pics.

Yeah, when my pix are too big, it acts just like that, too.

I have to screenshot then crop my pictures, which makes them fit the forum size acceptable.

Sometimes with an IPad this site won’t allow any pictures for that evening.
However the next day the same image rejected because of size are posted instantly..
When experiencing the problems, I’ve tried posting the verb-age first then later modifying with images as mentioned with no success either..

Try posting  a DJI drone video tracking a marked CB750 going through the gears…That’s not going to post either…

If you can find an external site that can host the image you can always hyperlink to that site. Then as long as others don't blow your bandwidth limits it would work.

on an Ipad, you don't have to crop. You can use the selection "full size"..large, medium , or small. That can determine how many pics can be included.

Maybe someone can help..?

Can one retrieve an accidentally or purposely removed post and then repost it in the original order..?

Or is this a moderator only sleight of hand ability..?

I have a screen shot of an earlier example, but the file size is too large for now. Now you see it, then it’s gone, then it’s back…🙄
