Cb350F parts swaping
« on: June 08, 2005, 05:49:28 PM »
Well, i've been able to locate all my cables except for my throttle cables and and speedo cable.  the problem is that i'm in canada, and looking for a local source of these parts.  Being as the 350 is a rare bike, are there other stock cables from other bikes that i could use?  such as ones off a cb400, or some such?  any help would be great

They're the same cables as the 400F.  Those two bikes probably share more parts than not.

Sorry to differ mate, but the cables are different.  The 400F, except maybe the 1977,  U.S. models had low bars as opposed the the mid-highth ones on the 350F, & the cables are correspondingly shorter.  The clutch operating systems are completly different & so are the lower clutch cable ends.  I have not tried 500F throttle cables on a 350F but they look similar & should be long enough to use.

going with the shorter cables is actually a plus, as i've installed clubman bars.  That would work fine then.  I am concerned with the speedo cable, as i can't seem to locate one specifically for the 350.   is it different then the one in the 400?

I am currently using a 400F speedo on my 350F & have interchanged front & rear wheels so it would seem that the cables are interchangable.  The last year 400F models were sold in the U.S. was 1977 I believe, & had several changes with footrests placed more forward & other things.

well, i got a good deal on the 350, and the fact that it's more rare has some appeal to me.  except for the finding the parts bit...

Wheels and suspension should all interchange. seat and tank, too, I'm fairly sure. Drill a few holes to change a 350f seat into a 500 seat, or whatever....
