77 550F Muffler Gasket
« on: August 21, 2019, 09:26:19 am »
All,

I can't tell by looking at the parts diagram and I can't find anything in the exhaust photo ref lib (yet).  Does the muffler gasket seat in between the header and muffler?  Meaning it would have the same OD of the header. Or does it slide over the header, increasing the OD of the header side?

I'm getting ready to purchase a Cone Eng Quiet-er core pipe but need to know if the gasket will increase the needed ID of the muffler inlet.

Thanks

The gasket sits over the header increasing the o/d, and the i/d of the muffler is then the size of the o/d of the gasket.

Old big plastic totes with tops are nice. Garage sale fodder.
