Honda cb 250 rs Deluxe
« on: August 23, 2019, 11:30:40 AM »
Hi all, i'm new to the forum i have a cb 250 rs deluxe 1981 ( electric start) .
A common fault with this bike is the front brake caliper seized up and i have not been able to get another.
I seem to remember reading somewhere that other honda calipers will fit but i am unsure which models.
Any advice would be appreciated. I have rebuilt the bike after having the frame powder coated, and kept everything original, now i'm stuck, nearly finished apart from the front brake. Thanks.

Welcome from Lake Superior,

Though I have not tried it.  Lot people use a grease gun to pop the piston out of the caliper.  Probably will need to order a new piston and seal.

Good Luck,

Welcome. The grease gun method MD mentioned will force the most stubborn caliper piston out. In some cases, once out, it's only a matter of cleaning the dried up brake fluid and reassembly with the original parts. You won't know until you take it apart.
Most of us here are not familiar with your model. The '77-'81 750 F or the 650 calipers up thru '81 *may* use a similar caliper?
Although this forum is for the sohc fours, we do have an "other bikes" section, where your 250 will be welcomed.
