After market instruments and switches.

I noticed that I can buy new gauges and handlebar switches on fleebay.  The ones I got are pretty faded and was wondering if they are worth the effort to restore.

Instruments - be careful. I had one come in (a tach) not working. The case was very poor, and inside it the mechanism was tiny compared to original and all plastic. I gave it back unrepaired and told the owner it was done, bound for the trashcan. The factory mechanism is pretty tough, I would repair them or convert to an electronic multifunction instrument before paying for crap like that.
Switchgear - better but not perfect. ie the lighting switch contacts overheat with normal headlight current, you should add relays.

Thanks, so it sounds like the ebay stuff is crap and it's better to rebuild the OEM stuff.  Could go to Koso or Speedhut instruments I guess.
