Dear Heart, you got a point.
Speaking for myself only, I thought the post was a joke.  Then, I came to realize Mr JP was serious.  Then I realized he hadn't learned anything from his experience and in fact seems to be proud of his stupidity.
Parenthetically, the opposite of love is not hate- it's ennui.  If we didn't basically care about JP we'd just walk away.
After a while, well, you sort of tried to put out a tiny fire by pulling down your pants and sitting on it.
That's only going to encourage the kids to play with matches!  What were YOU thinking?!
Being a semi-old fart, I'm still not used to emoticons, but I imagine there is a place for one or two in this post somewhere.
Well-  ;D
Dude- your 8 layers are showing!

here try this.

see? we dont let anyone suffer to omuch here.  some dogs like to fight, and i am pretty sure everyone here isnt using teeth, so it should work itself out, but i gotta say, before you serenity, no one bothered to break down the emotions behind it like that and perhaps that is why it takes us so long to work stuff out.  sorta takes the fun out of randomly clashing and sparring when you know about your emotional motivations for doing so.  spoilsport

....and a newbie at that, sometimes people just want to share everything , even their mistakes.....no matter their motives..... Maybe Im just seeing this in a womans way, which isnt always a bad thing...it creates balance.

I'm not sure JP needs mothering. Kinda surprised that his post count shows as 'newbie' because his presence here seems bigger than that.
Motives? don't know, but as the male/female ratio is roughly 47-1 here, effectively this is a male group, and in a guys world, here or in real life, excessive bull#$%*, boasting or obnoxiousness is quickly challenged. JP isn't a child, and he isn't dim and he knows the ground rules. The reasons he posts in his particular style are his.

From 3 years ago..
1. 35 year old bike
2. Cheap Cheng Sheng tires
3. Bone stock suspension

....of coarse now it has reworked forks, works shocks, Dunlop KR825(GP slick compound/carcass in vintage thread) and Titanium cutback rearset pegs(note pegs scraping in above pic).

These 30+ year old bikes can be ridden hard and thrown over in the corners.....just need to know how to do it.

...and lifting knee coming out of a corner at Mid-Ohio last year

I won't be trying it again unless I have both A. knee rollers, and B.  A bike that I don't mind wrecking! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D >:( :'(

P.S. They are called knee pucks/sliders......not knee rollers ;D

repetitive harsh remarks only makes a young person feel bitter and resentful...and perhaps he just wanted to be a part of this forum....as many older and experienced men hang here....we all need guidance at times in a constructive form.

I'm likely younger than Mr. JP here, but you don't see me going around making stupid comments and trying to defend them (I just make stupid comments  ;D)  But in all reality, I've learned in my short experience here on Earth that there are many things that I do not know that older and wiser people know, mostly because they have had the opportunity to experience it.  Of course you have to take the advise with a grain of salt in regards to who the source is, but in this case I would consider the people on this forum to be stand-up and trustworthy.

I also thought the post was a joke to begin with, until he started defending his position.  And trying to defend yourself when 95% of the forum thinks you're wrong (while admirable in some situations) is asinine when arguing a topic where you make defending statements such as, "I can honestly say no one in the world could do what I tried, but at least I tried it!"  That's not balls, that's pride.  And pride generally doesn't fly, especially in a male-dominated forum such as this.

And repetitive harsh remarks only makes a young person bitter if they're too immature to accept criticism.  If he can't take the criticism (which I have been criticized many times on this forum, and I've learned from my many mistakes because of it  ;D) then honestly, he needs to grow up a little.

Of course that's just my 2 cents.

Nice work Greg.
Do you do vintage racing or was that at an open track day?
Around here we have a couple different orgaizations that put on full day track events.  For a little more than $100, you get about 4 hours of track time plus some great classroom and on-track instruction from expert level club racers.  It's a heck of a bargain in my opinion and lets you go as fast as you dare in a controlled environment.

this is my opinion but, i know at least serenity will back me up

i don't think jp was defending as much of what he said as defending his pride because many of you are being complete and utter jerks!
******* would be a better term... and that is not what this forum is about.
you may not be banned but you know who you are and so do the moderators.  don't do it again.

this thread is locked.
