cb550 regulator/rectifier question
« on: September 11, 2019, 09:28:44 am »
Hello everyone

First time poster here. I have a classic cb550K which iv had for the past 10 years. I'm finally building it into a brat style bike which is what iv always wanted to do. Right now I am working on building a new wiring harness and upgrading from the ancient one originally installed.

Tbh the electrical system has always confused me and I am trying to learn as much as I can before purchasing parts. I am wondering whether to spend the extra $ on parts from custom bike sites (dimecity, cognito, etc.) or buy cheaper parts from eBay.

For example:
Ebay
Or
Cognito

Also, if anyone has any links to instructions/resources on this topic I would appreciate it.

Thanks!

Personally, I went with a Rick’s R/R and am glad I did. I had a charging issue after installing it and it failed a test so they took it back and sent me a new one without any hassles.
