550 K1 start button issue
« on: August 30, 2019, 03:11:03 PM »
Aftet last wash I found start button broke off...
Is there any possibility to buy one ( 3D printed)? Of should I try to fix by JB weld?

Seeing contact inside it might not be very straightforward...

Sorry for asking help before trying to open & fix...

You need to look inside and see which starter button you have, one type simply grounds to the bars(1wire) and was available seperate the other switches power from headlight to starter(3 wires) and only comes with the complete switch

I have swich combined with headlights, see attached. Now fixed temporarily with tyre rap and piece of rubber to avoid it will fall apart while riding..

I remember there was some thread where somebody offered 3D printed spares... But not sure if on this forum and if for 550...

It was this forum and for a 400 but same.
The 500 has the light switch the same its internaly the switch varies. Looking at that light switch you might have the early type start button, all you have to do is undo the screws and look in the bottom half to find out!

Refreshing this thread

Finally found time to disassemble right swith, here are pics of the starting button.

So question remains the same - is there any possibility to buy spare button only or I need to look for the whole switch?

Yes, it looks Honda part 35317-001-310 is the one I need, but they do not mention anywhere compatibility with CB550K1 switch.
But on the picture it looks the same, so I'll risk it and buy it ;)

Thanks to all!
