Welcome to Podunk Arkansas (whatever that means!)
« on: February 13, 2007, 05:03:43 PM »
Just A FYI. This was posted on the NOC (Norton Owners Club) List, referring to the 'Terry' of their forum. Hobot is quite an erudite and outspoken kind of guy, which, as you will read, has not done him any favours!!

Hello,

This is hobot's better half writing to let y'all know that he had a traffic court date last Wed. that ended with the judge holding him in contempt, and throwing him in county lockup for 30 days.  Apparently Arkansas is no longer in America, as it seems you're not allowed to face your accuser here, since the prosecutor failed to show up, or respond to questions that
were filed with the court, which he was required to respond to, but which he also failed to do...what a surprise....

So hobot said he could not plead until they were answered, which angered the black-robed self-appointed deity, so instead of resheduling the arraignment, and inviting the prosecutor to fulfill his job requirement and show up, he chose to incarcerate hobot instead, most likely to keep him from filing any more court documents they can't answer without revealing
themselves as the frauds they are.  I have certified copies of both these clowns sworn oaths of office, which their actions against him have put them in direct violation of, along with each and every other actor in this kidnapping and conspiracy against him, so they will be sued for this eventually, but that does nothing to alleviate hobot's current dilemma.

...welcome to Podunk Arkansas, where the corrupt and evil "good ol' boys club" doesn't have to play by their own rules, and the demon judge has his thugs with guns and badges enforce sentences for the terrible crime of offending his tender sensibilities.

If anyone can unsubscribe him from the list until we get him out, please do so, as his inbox is literally overflowing, so it would really help me out. Knowing hobot he'll give y'all a blow-by-blow description (that will look encrypted with his dyslexic spelling, as usual) when he's back, so in the meantime, all prayers gratefully accepted, and stay tuned for the update
when he's a free man again.

I was just discussing this kind of thing at another forum.  Despit what your grade school social studies book says, your are guilty until proven innocent.  Now I'm mad again.
Dude- your 8 layers are showing!

I'm gonna tell ya, I've lived in Arkansas all my life and I have never even heard of Podunk and have absolutely no idea where it is. If there is such a place, I can guarantee you that nearly every state in the U.S. has at least one of the type of places that is described as Podunk, Arkansas. I will refrain from saying anything about the class of folks involved in this thing because I don't know them and won't lower myself to their level. That's all I'm saying on this subject. :-X

'Podunk, Arkansas' is a reference to the quintessential backward small town.  Out of touch with modern times, societal standards, etc.

Oddly enough, I came across a little place a few years back that really was called Podunk.  When I worked as a medic at Spencer Rescue in central Massachussetts, I discovered that an area in our general response area was actually named Podunk.  At least one road was called Podunk Road, or something like that.  Pretty much back in the woods, but not so far from modernity like the Podunk of our allegorical usage.

My parents own a bit of property in Hot Springs, AR. They were on the city board a while back. Asked why the city kept tearing up the same section of road over and over and giving the job to one of the board members nephews...
Code hit them about a week after, every house. Cost a fair bit of money. Parent's aren't on the board anymore, though people ask em to run for office.

THis happens everywhere though, not just Arkansas.
No.
