G'day and sorry if a spark plug question is like an oil question, it's not my intention to upset.
So I have a K2 that I think I put spark plugs in over 30 000km's ago. I put them in when I got the bike and then transfered them to a new engine that I put in the bike maybe 5000km ago.
The plugs are NGK D8EA ( I can't remember why I chose these ) I just pulled one to check what it was so I could throw a spare in the tool kit and noticed the gap is way big (it's around 1.1mm using feeler gauge as my spark plug gauge doesn't go that big)
First question is what gap do you set your plugs at? Honda manual says .6 to .7mm I then found some Honda brand plugs on the shelf which are NGK DR8ES these plug gaps are set at around .65mm I can't remember where I got these plugs, but I have a feeling they came with some engine parts I bought one time for a CB750.
The other thing is I read in the appendix of Marks book to set the plugs at .3 to .4mm using stock Honda coils.
When I got the bike I put on new Honda coils, leads, breaker point assembly, Marks ignition module and spark plugs.
I'm going to guess a .7mm gap is fine if 1.1mm seems to be OK and then maybe D8EA again as I don't know about the Honda plugs cause I can't be sure they are for this bike.
