Removed both forks as seals were leaking. Stripped bottom Allen bolt (#14) of one fork so stuck there, other opened up but part #9 didn’t come out of fork.

Any thoughts of both issues please.

Part 9 just gets hung up in there, should be able to poke/bang it out. It will fit through the upper fork seal.

Part 14... maybe reshape with a dremel attachment and use a larger hex wrench, or cut a slot and use a screwdriver? Either way soak it with penetrating oil and heat it up before you try again.

Are you 100% sure it’s not stuck in the bottom of the fork lower?

#9 is what #14 screws into. So you only have one problem, that's nice

I would fill the fork lower with PB blaster and leave for a while, then try your favorite extraction technique. Probably too recessed to get a chisel on it so maybe try an extractor. I recently used one on an exhaust stud and it worked great.

You sure 14 doesn’t thread into 5, sandwiching 9? I can’t remember. Anyway, I don’t know how the fork could function without 9.

I think I can confirm it’s missing. Now do I have to have it or bolt it up without it.

It seems like function it serves is to keep spring in center ?

I would not bolt up without it. You can get a whole fork leg for under $50. I’m sure someone on here has a spare #9.

Just drill into the hex head with a 6mm drill till the head comes off you then replace the bolt and sealing washer, common thing in workshops of the day!

Got the Allen bolt out of the other fork and part #9 was there. Bike is sitting in a place/ spot that I got to move it. Not sure what to do

Any sohc4 (and probably lots more)is gonna have the same Allen screw.

Can, I would buy a donor fork tube and get both part #9 and a fresh Allen bolt for your existing forks.

I had to bolt it up without that part in order to move the bike as it was sitting in the middle of garage.

You could aslo just get a pair of oil locks from England for fairly cheap.
