Best ones are Honda but pricey
Semi Geriatric ex-Honda mechanic and MOT tester (UK version of annual inspection). Garage full of "projects" mostly 500/4 from pre 73 (no road tax in UK).

Jtmarks77 on eBay sell complete point plates of brand TEC.
TEC points have bluish color dots on them. I have seen points only at DSS as well.

Honda points last forever and in my experience hardly require any maintenance. I got my bike with 33.000km on the odometer. I doubt that I - now a ton later - have ever replaced them more than once. That's why these EI advertisements - 'set and forget' - has always made me laugh. Honda points are almost set and forget. Just check every 3000 km that the little felt at five o'clock under the advancer cam does not run dry. Just a drop of oil. It is true: stock points are expensive, so one might consider an EI. That has to be one of a brand with a spotless reputation. Having followed thousands of threads in various SOHC fora, I have not met one brand that never ever gave a problem. That's why some 20 years ago I decided to build a transistor ignition module - similar to Hondamans I suppose - myself. Points are still there but now just trigger the power transistor. See this setup as a relay. In the event of a malfunction, I can switch back to 'old style' anytime, but the system has worked flawlessly all these years. Points will not pit anymore and mine are now close to 60.000 kms in service. When you decide for an EI, don't expect even one HP more. If you, after you have fitted an EI, 'feel' the bike 'really' runs better, it probably has more to do with the fresh sparkplugs you have fitted, 'to do the job a 100% rightaway' but... - who knows - secretly to avoid a possible dissappointment...

I found a complete TEC plate in a box of junk from the 80's I've saved together with 4 Daichii plates.
I do not remember why I replaced it, maybe bad condensers or just for sure.
The points look good.

Old plates good to save. The harness can be reused if pinching one

I was lucky to find cheap TEC points on eBay a few years ago, 3 complete sets for $25US + cheap shipping if remember correctly. My K2 got the old TEC plate and NOS TEC points. Hondaman ignition on that bike too.

The cheap crap ends up costing more when you have to replace it...

30203-300-154 points alone, or
30200-300-154 whole shebang, worth every cents as you likely won't ever need to do it again.

Go thru South Sound Honda and save a significant $$, too.
See SOHC4shop@gmail.com for info about the gadgets I make for these bikes.

Blood is thicker than water, but motor oil is thicker yet...so, don't mess with my SOHC4, or I might have to hurt you.
