CB750 shocks: 1" shorter?
« on: September 09, 2019, 12:19:36 pm »
I need new shocks for my K5 at some point, and am contemplating getting ones that are one inch shorter than stock so I can touch the ground easier at stops. I know I'd need to lower the front the same amount. Are there any issues with this, such as the rear tire hitting the fender?
If it's worth doing, it's worth doing twice.

Seat down was very popular back in 70-80's where I live. Stock seat is rather thick with sharp corners.

Many did after seat was scratched when bike hit the ground. White the color in first part of 80's ;)

I left my K6 stock seat to professional shop to cut the foam in a wave pattern for driver and passenger. Worked really fine, rounded shape and more comfortable than stock. They cut the foam and applied another foam on top of it with final shape.

Find an old seat in need of new cover.

My reshaped seat. The bike got later a NOS seat to complete the stock look it had then with 4-4.

I have a cut seat, and 1in shorter Hagons, no rubbing problems. Love the shocks, look, and ride.
