"solo one"
« on: September 14, 2019, 09:42:26 PM »
old aussie actor paul Cronin died,he was in a tv show in the early 70s over here called matlock police,he rode a cb750 equipped with a radio when at the time the actual police bikes here didn't have radios!his call sign was solo one, rest in peace.
the show was set in a little country town, check the ford zephyr, and they had a Monaro police car!

No disrespect, Dave, but "Then came Bronson" was much cooler. ;)

In one episode, he entered a hill-climb, and they substituted a 2-stroke for the HD, I think maybe a Maico, with Harley sounds dubbed in. ;D

Matlock had a spin off series just for Paul Cronin, "Solo One" , just him and the bike and from memory the opening credits showed him kick-starting the bike
That's about the only thing I remember about it, just another run of the mill Aussie country cop show
i blame Terry

One of the co-stars Micheal Pate had a lot of roles over here in the USA. Have seen him around on old westerns and other things. On another note those are some interesting gloves he wears, work good for bbq mits also !

cringe factor on this!
In that clip he's not riding a CB750, looks like a Kaw twin  ;D ;D  Back in 2018 I was visiting Kawasaki King Rick Brett in Northern Michigan and he fired one up and rode down the road with the siren on for me. Think he said it may have come out of New Zealand.
