pre-tariff 80's V45 Magna
« on: September 16, 2019, 06:48:45 AM »
I was just gifted an 80's V45 Magna.  It has sat for a long time, but ran when parked...the guys pit bull chewed through the break cables and he didn't want to mess with it.  He went full Harley mode.  This thing is going to take a lot of cosmetic surgery and I will have to pull the carbs and change fluids before trying to start it.  The tanks will also have to be cleaned out and resealed (it has a little traditional tank and a tank under the seat).  My question is, have any of you worked on these bikes, and are the carbs a pain to remove and install?  Thanks.

Ptere,

You should use the "Other Bikes" forum for this. There are several guys that have or used to own V4 Hondas, so you should be able to get your questions answered, but yes, the carbs are a pain.

One tip is to maybe purchase new rubber intake carb manifolds if taking the carbs off. Make putting the carbs back on easier and their old. Did that when I did my V65 Sabre.
