seal at points end of crankshaft question
« on: September 16, 2019, 08:39:16 PM »
Hi there
I was doing a dry run on joining the crankcase halves together and noticed the seal on the end of the crankshaft at the points end has a lip that looks like it needs to be installed before the cases are joined together.

Do you lube this seal with anything?

I normally use a little bit of bearing grease to lubricate my seals but I would like to not make mistakes on this engine if possible, so thanks for any info on how you do it.

Grease is fine. It's what I use.

I also use a little hard setting compound on the outer of those seals.
