Wow...... Serious vintage/historic car event! Over 150 amazing machines, from all over the US and Canada. Best in Show was a Mercedes SSK from Georgia. Classes ranged from 110 year old “brass rad”” cars to 50’s and 60’s Rods and Customs. GM had three early Concept Cars, all built before the first Corvair, using their 6 cylinder, air cooled engine. Porsche sponsored this year (and committed to 2020), they had old cars, race cars, and new cars everywhere! This year’s motorcycle class was well represented (by invitation only) and included Hondas, Yamaha, Suzuki and a really nice Kawasaki Z1.
Too bad for them my CB750 was there! Took the top prize. What a fantastic weekend, meals, entertainment, and a huge turnout, despite lousy weather in the early hours. I will go back, this event is rapidly coming on par with Pebble Beach and Amelia Island, and they continue to have a motorcycle class, every year. See the last picture, wearing my 50 year old riding jacket and boots, on the Winner’s podium. Every one else was in very formal or period attire. I was the most comfortable!
