1979 CB550 rebuild starter problems
« on: November 11, 2019, 06:04:05 pm »
Hey everyone,
I am working on my second build of 1979 CB550 that I have redone almost all of the wiring on it. Currently everything is working on the bike that I have hooked up other than the starter switch. To my knowledge, the starter motor works because I have jumped the two poles of the solenoid together and it turns over. I am trying to use a new momentary switch that has a black wire running to it for the 12V power, and the Yellow/Red wire to the solenoid. When the button is pressed there is power running through the yellow/red wire, but not turning over. Any ideas on what the problem could be? Could it just be a bad solenoid? I am so close to getting this build done, but this is the last gremlin on the list!! I am about to run it kickstart only at this point  :-X

This forum is fantastic btw,

Thanks!
