Like said before, its only original once. The 98 point restos are great, but the nicer, more valuable they are, the less you tend to ride them. Afraid of breaking or scratching something. If mine, id paint the tank and sides, and clean, clean, clean. The scratches and bumps are badges of your memories. Once repaired they are gone. Paint it back original color, and ride it like you stole it (in another country)!

Ps-I have a couple of classic cars, one restored kinda slick, the other kinda ratty, faded,and dinged. The second gets driven WAY more, I let the kids eat in the back seat, I get in it with muddy shoes on, and I don't spend a half of day cleaning, before I go for a drive.
