triple tree replacement
« on: February 04, 2007, 11:27:14 AM »
I'm looking for someone to manufacture a new top triple tree for my cb500K1. I've started to grind down the handlebar mounts as others on his site have on my original, but think I'd like the strength and clean look of a  solid aluminum piece.

I figure 1" thick plate or the equivalent would work.

any suggestions?

Was going to do the same on my 400, but i saw an original one an engineer had filed down, and after a chat, was convinced that it would be plenty strong enough, and looks a lot nicer than the bog standard look, i'll put a piccy on in a mo.

Hym, I'd suggest calling up the local machine shops and asking for prices. Hopefully someone will be a SOHC nut or at least be having a slow month.

Or if you have a friend with a milling machine, even better.  ;D

This place makes billet upper trees for the 750 and other hondas but they don't list the 500 series specifically.  Might be worth checking with them tho . . . .http://www.mginproducts.com/
