I have pods (the cheap emgo ones) on both my gs, and cb 750s. They are tunable . It took several changes, but now, once engine is warm, their crisp as FI ! You must use adjustable needles. And do 1 circuit at a time . I start with stock pilot (adjust it 1 turn richer with the screw), then raise the needle 1 clip, then up 10 on the main. Then ride! Tune by seat of pants meter, not plug color! Then when u get it close, install new plugs, and get your color to suit you. Mine are dark, but they don't foul!
