It depends on the model and intent of the owner, I think. Metal flake is fine, but somehow solid works best for me for something like a cafe racer, etc.
We'll all be someone else's PO some day.

I sold my GTO before I got a chance to Paint it. At the time I was considering the aquamarine or turquoise family. I think it would be a good choice for my 750F. Don't see many like that.

I love flat black and have since before it was everywhere. Both my bikes are flat black. I hate it that you see them everywhere now, but I like it so much, I'm not going to change.

Black is the color mine is now. Not original Paint job but nun the less the way it came. I want mine to be unique in a small way. Not that mine would be the only one of it's kind turquoise or an aqua, just fewer and far between. Part of the whole concept of hotroding, bike or car.

Solid colors.  The solid primary colors the 400 came in were awesome.

The exception is first-year 750's Candy Blue-Green.  Despite me being a 400 Cultist, that's my favorite color ever offered on the Honda CBs.

You forgot pearl/iridescent.  I saw a #$%*ing pearl paint job this past Wednesday at the Quaker Steak and Lube Bike Night.  I got the painter's info.  Hope he is affordable. ;D

Anyone ever hear bout green on a scooter being a bad luck thing? I heard this alot from a small group of friends who swore by it. This was before I started riding and way before the year the automotive industry turned the world and road hunter green.

As for my preference, Im partial to a well sprayed thick laquered solid color. Then fill all the other spaces with chrome...
