Viable replacement for airbox on k7?
« on: October 13, 2019, 07:06:25 PM »
Not necessarily going to do it any time soon as I have really nice original airbox and intake boots, but is there anything that is a suitable replacement? I've heard horror stories about tuning using pods but are there any intake mods that actually work well without too much hassle?

I made one for Dorothy:

Because she came to me with cheap pods.

Some guys use lanchbox type filter, you can find them on ebay.  Also there are some aftermarket:

I have pods (the cheap emgo ones) on both my gs, and cb 750s. They are tunable . It took several  changes, but now, once engine is warm, their crisp as FI  !  You must use adjustable needles. And do 1 circuit at a time . I start with stock pilot (adjust it 1 turn richer with the screw), then raise the needle 1 clip, then up 10 on the main.  Then ride! Tune by seat of pants meter, not plug color!  Then when u get it close, install new plugs, and get your color to suit you. Mine are dark, but they don't foul!
