cb400f countershaft drive side bearing removal - how?

I am having trouble getting the bearing race off the drive side of the output shaft on my cb400f.

The plain spacer (collar) on the outer side of the shaft (which fits in to the the output oil seal) just will not budge off the splines.

Are there any tricks to this?

The splines end of the shaft next to the collar is where the final drive sprocket fits.

I tried a little heat. Still no joy. As this end of the shaft pokes out of the crankcase, I'm guessing that 35 years in the shed has allowed the collar and the splines to corrode together?

I'm sure I've changed this bearing on another 400/4 a long time ago without any trouble. (Maybe I've just got weaker in tha arms)

Solved - strip all the gears off the other side, support the shaft, output side pointing upwards, with two end-on pieces of 4×2 (equal length), apply lots of heat to the collar and belt the shaft with a hammer, with a bit of wood between it and the shaft end to a void denting it. Presto.....

You should have used a press to remove the bush, it's a press fit.
with the heat you probably melted the O-ring so replace that (they are normally hard anyway).

Re install with a press.

Which o ring? Theres no sign of any residue in the collar?

is it hard to fint the bearing vith the grove...as i renember its not in the spareparts..as a parts number...so had to be faund as a extern part..
i kan not speak english/but trying!!

Ah.... there is a hard dark ring on the shaft just behind the splines which could have once been an o ring. Looks more like a plastic washer. Probably obably the heat did that then.

Does anybody have the dimensions for this o ring please? And suggestions as to composition? Nitrile? Silicone rubber? Viton? Etc.

Pressing would've been preferable, but I don't have access to one. I also have a spare set of shafts in a spare engine. I fear the knowledge that I have that as a plan 'c' leads me to the risky option too readily.
