CB350F - Need info on this bike/build; see pic
« on: October 18, 2019, 05:48:56 AM »
Hello,

Does anyone have the build specs for this bike or the original write up about it?
You know the usual, brand of tank, tires, wheels, seat, rearsets, and so on...?
Thanks in advance.

Todd

It is a race bike want to be probably since it still has the center stand. A poser bike built for a look.  Airtech parts.  Rear set are a hack as they are using the rear footpeg location, likely to be uncomfortable and compromise control shifting and braking because of the position it puts you body in...

Yes, looks like a half-arsed racer replica. Should have a race pipe, no stands, and axle pegs with a race stand. And maybe a race bike tach, a Smiths Chronometric on spring mounts would look really trick. The rearsets... I think they may be OK for racing but believe that will be a nasty posture for any "normal" use unless the rider is rather height challenged. May be an indoor display piece? I'm not sure the Racetech tank can survive ethanol.

Fiberglass tanks aren’t safe for the street, in case you did not know. They can rupture in a crash catching fire and if your get gas on you when it ruptures then the obvious bad things can happen. So, you may really like the look, but it is not a smart thing to run on the street.

So the theory is that in a race, someone will get to you with an extinguisher fast and you only get Lauda'd rather than fully barbecued? Still sounds like a steel tank is preferable.
