CB750 Neck anatomy

Hey,
Has anyone cut open the neck section on a stock frame? I’m considering making a gooseneck and am wondering how hard the process of extracting the neck and cleaning it up is? My reason for asking is that where I’m from chopper frames for CB750s are very rare and I’m not sure if I want to deal with the hassle of having the vin transferred to a new neck

Chopper frames appear on ebay often, there is one now -
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Honda-CB750-SOHC-69-78-DOHC-79-82-Custom-Hardtail-Chopper-Frame/183995494349?hash=item2ad6fc6fcd:g:3UUAAOSwsnVdpRQl
Much easier to buy a frame.
