Weldless Frame Kit
« on: June 22, 2019, 02:33:18 pm »
Hi All,

New member to the forum.  I have a 76 CB750F that has been dormant for a bit and finally getting around to working on it.

Projects will include:

1) Installing weldless frame kit (how do I get a hold of Scottly?)
2) Addressing oil seepage (not leaking) on cylinder fins.  (replace head gasket?)
3) Replace engine hardware with allen bolts when putting it back together.
4) Upgrade to PAMCO electronic ignition with new coils.
5) fixing pesky carb bowl leak

I welcome any advice or tips on any of the above!!  Haven't worked on bikes very much!!

Regarding the oil leak, check your tachometer cable where it goes into the cam cover. There is a seal that sometimes needs replacing. I need to do this on mine.

And seriously, if it’s just “seeping”, leave it alone! I have a K4 my soon and I have been riding for 5 years. I wipe it down occaisionally, and really clean it once a year. It uses no oil really, just weeps enough to see and runs fine.......

thanks for the replies. Finishing up K1 836 rebuild, after receiving my line-bored cases from Cycle X, (with many other parts), and my beauty of a head from Mike Rieck. My MLS head gasket looks almost flush with the oil galley o-rings (which measure 2.4mm thick).
So, i ordered another set of o-rings, hoping they are 2.5 - 2.6mm; to prevent any potential leaks. I  have not had motor apart for 38 years. But after owning the bike for 44 years, and after reading your posts about the weldless frame kit; i need Scottly to PM me about buying a kit.
