Funny that people keep mentioning bicycle safety.  I actually came from the bicycle world to motorcycles late.  I attribute 10s of thousands of road miles on a bicycle to my awareness and balance on a motorcycle.  And my safety gear on a bicycle was a helmet, gloves and some lycra.  I just always assumed anyone not sitting on my bicycle was there specifically to kill me and I just kept that mindset on my motorcycles :P

It's the speed differential dilemma with the bicycles.
We have the early morning, late evening, bicyclists here.
With the record distracted drivers, as well as the norm with the other driving impairments, and the speed differential, bicycling is in my past now.
I still ponder wether it's just shear bravery or a wish of some kind?
Glad to see your ad least traveling near the same speed as those specifically out to get you....

Agreed. I would like to see some statistics on it, but for miles ridden, I would say riding a bicycle or a moped is at least 10 times more dangerous than riding a motorcycle.

How often do you check your tire pressure? I know people who never do! I carry a quality gauge in my jacket pocket.

Everytime i go out . Critical to do it . My Ducati is really sensitive to pressures , almost unrideable if they are not correct ( with brand new Pirelli Angel GT tires ) . Cheap insurance for a safe ride.

I serviced a guys bike that was scary. Both tires worn bald except in the middle because they only had 15lbs in each tire. I gave him a gauge and showed him how to use it when he picked up his bike.
