Thanks, I've been off reading the manual. It has some good info, it also shows the open engine and no rods are visible. I should have looked there first. I especially like the troubleshooting chart that's 4 pages long. It would save a lot of conversation in the tech forums.
The trans is a lot less scary after looking at the manuals. If it eventually turns into parts it's ok because I paid $40 for it and am using the wheels on another bike.
