hey from Toronto - 750 K7
« on: October 22, 2019, 05:56:24 PM »
Hi everyone -

I was taking a break from riding this summer, but a friend came across a black '77 750 K, original owner, 'bout 21 000 miles on it. The owner's son had apparently taken it apart for a cafe but didn't do anything with it. The wiring looked untouched, and the motor in the frame.

Lots of good info on this site for reassembly, many thanks. I'm not a real wrench but am enjoying putting it together (no idea if it runs yet).

I had a '75 550 K (jade green) in high school (late '80's), which i've always missed, and I still have a '76 red 400 F (feels too small for me) that has passed around various family members for 30 years, currently waiting for daughter (11) to age up.

Cheers!

Thank you Prospect and MD -

Prospect, good to hear there's a few dedicated types in T.O. - I'm going to start tooling through the site for any insight into local parts. um, if you're ever riding your sandcast around midtown, it'd be great to see it :)

MD, I'm jealous, some very nice riding up your way - I was hoping to find a '75 550 (K not F though) when the '77 750 came along

Cheers!

Otbmf........ welcome! I used to live at Bathurst and St.Clair, moved to our farm just north of Mosport, 5 years ago.  I love my K7 and K8, under appreciated, great machines. I have lots of extra parts! Best source for bits in Ontario: Vintagecb750.com. Fast shipping, next day delivery in Toronto!

Cheers, John D.

otbmf,

I do venture into Ontario a couple times a year.  In-laws are in London and more of the wife's family are spread between Ottawa and Toronto.  Future plans are to do a Lower Great Lakes Ironbutt ride, which means riding through Toronto.

Hi BenelliSEI -

Thank you! That's quite the move - I bet it's nice to roll down the driveway and be riding as compared to 45 min of traffic to get anywhere :) and so close to the track for vintage days, not far from the Ganaraska for trails, hmmm...

Great looking set of '750's - I hadn't thought about two, but now that you mention it I did just hear about a '78 F that would go well with the '77...

Appreciate the heads up on vintage - whoa lots of stuff on there, I only started out with an order for exhaust gaskets :)

Um, if you're cleaning stuff up in your garage and there's a headlight bucket assembly that's really in your way, please let me know :)

Cheers!

Hey MD -

I didn't see the IBAs in your sig line, I've heard about their rides around the like, are you doing those on your GL? - if you're heading in the general direction of Ottawa on a bike, and can do a small detour, HWY 507 to Gooderham is shortish (about 50km), but lots of curves... if you have not heard of it - and if you're rolling through TO and need anything, drop me a line:)

Cheers!

otbmf,

Modified the signiture.  Hopefully it is clearer now.  Have done 3 Saddlesore 1000s on the CB550F and 1 Saddlesore 1000 on the GL1200A.
