Guten Tag from Milwaukee-1970 cb750 K0
« on: January 25, 2007, 01:08:26 PM »
Hello All,

I bought my '70 cb750 K0 from a co-worker about a year ago and have been slowly putting it back together.  It ain't pretty, but it runs.  My plans initially are to get it running well, beef up the safety issues (brakes, tires, suspension) and ride this summer and then tear it down and get pretty with paint, powdercoating, etc.  Thus far, I've done the Dyna S ignition, new Dyna coils, wires and spark plugs.  I'm collecting parts for a dual disc brake conversion, and have purchased a dual rate fork spring kit from Works Performance.  In time, I'll be getting shocks from them too, and a 4 into 1 exhaust from kerker.  Thus far, I've gotten loads of help from fellow sohc/4'rs and my thanks goes out to all of you.

Prost!

Welcome Bikebuff!  I've got a 550K cafe here in Milwaukee on the East Side.  People here are great and full of knowledge.  Glad to have another local member!

Thanks for the warm welcome Bob and WJL75.

I belong to a couple of german dancing clubs, so I tend to say Guten Tag; I wish I knew more German than just the necessities (bier, bratwurst, fraulein, prost).  Here's a link to the club I'm referring to: http://www.muller-fasching.org/index2.htm.  The other club I belong to is much more dignified-the Milwaukee Donauschwaben.  It's the group my wife has been a part of and I've since joined.  She is much more dignifed; for better or worse I am not  ;)

It's good to know there are other Milwaukee Honda buffs in the area!!

Prost!

Must admit, when I read "dancing German clubs," I pictured some sort of ultra-sheik discotheque type of crap but I checked out your site.  Cheers my friend.  I left some comments there.  BTW, there's some dead links to shutterfly.

Thanks for the feedback HJ,

Yeah, our German club is pretty riotously fun; akin to an older adult fraternity (kind of like this group).  We've got people from all walks of life in our group (a judge, firefighter, police security, woodcarver, business/real estate, mental health (me), and so on).  The Karnival season is a great time to pass the winter and get together with all sorts of people.  Our group really enjoys dancing for people who have never seen or heard of us.  We did a bus tour in and around Milwaukee to several restaurants and nightclubs and the reactions we get from people are so cool.  They have lots of questions about what we do and why, how the costumes are made and so on.  Then there's the food (not to mention beer).  Over time you wind up getting invited to weddings with all these German clubs and the homemade food and desserts are the best, and are sure to rival anything you can find in Germany and Austria.  The commeraderie is similar to the gang here on the forum, so it's a familiar feeling to me.  Currently, our dancing schedule is on our website (www.muller-fasching.org/index2.htm) so if you all in and around the Milwaukee/Chicago area aren't doing much these next few weeks in February, come join us for fun, food, and a little bier  ;D.  Thanks to HJ for the links update; our site server had been having some problems last week.  I will pass this onto our webmaster.

Prost!
