1979 CM400A Muffler replacement?
« on: October 28, 2019, 01:41:47 PM »
I have a 1979 CM400A and I've already went through a pair of baffles a few years ago.  Now I got holes in this used pair.  I was looking online and these look like they might work OK: https://www.ebay.com/itm/HONDA-CB350-CB360-CM400-CB750-UPSWEPT-AFTERMARKET-MUFFLERS-REMOVABLE-BAFFLES-x-2/291816218849?hash=item43f19a20e1:g:X~wAAOSwzLlXg88g

Looking for something plug and play, don't have access to getting things fabbed up for me.  Working with hand tools and no garage.

Worst case scenario looks like I could get original used ones for $150-$300 for the set, depending on condition, phase of the moon, etc.  Would like some modern replacements that don't distract from the visuals if possible.

They might be a little loud but should work. My first instinct is sportster mufflers.

I've never used an aftermarket muffler so I don't know if you just pack these and how well does the packing hold up, etc.?
