Protecting frame after grinding bits off during mock up.

What should I do to prevent corrosion during mock up after cutting side cover tabs and other extraneous bits off?

Any type of spray paint or something recommended?

You really should not have much rust at all pop up even after weeks or months of it being bare, assuming you're working inside obviously. I would not worry too much at all because you'll still need to sand everything for paint when youre done anyway or have it blasted for powder coat.
