« on: November 04, 2019, 12:34:27 PM »
... when they just have launched this:

https://www.motorcyclenews.com/news/new-bikes/honda-cbr1000rr-r-fireblade/

215 bhp, Ti rods, mixed gear/chain cam drive, DLC treatment in key points and unlike the Panigale V4, being an Honda I guess you could easily ride this to the grocery store too...pretty wow in my book

with the new 81mm bores, stroke is now down to 55mm, like a sohc CB650.... shame that a 650 cant rev to 14.5K :)

55mm was the previous model stroke, the new stroke is just 48.5mm.😳

you are right, so it's even shorter than a 500/4's (50.5mm)!

Wonder if that 1000's crank will fit the 500/4 to make a short stroke version :)

Been today to EICMA, pics hot from the oven in more than one sense

bet alvaro read KC's article before signing :)

an in depth look,

https://www.cycleworld.com/2021-cbr1000rr-r-is-hondas-response-to-ducati-v4-r/

i think that kevin didnt pay attention to the possibility that counter rotating camshafts might cancel quite bit of crankshaft rotation inertia for faster direction changes...
