Frame year via frame number
« on: September 12, 2019, 04:55:31 AM »
Hi all, new to the page and turns out I've bought a bit of a franken-Honda...

The Apparent 75 CB750K actually has a CB750K7 engine in it (canada) and a frame number of "2538152". Using the serial number page I couldn't figure out what year the frame came from:

http://www.sohc4.net/cb750k-serial-numbers

I'm guessing this is actually a K5 frame as per the chart but I wasn't sure how to read it as there is no range i.e x - y.

Any help would be appreciated. I need a new tank so want to make sure I buy the right style to fit the frame/carb combination

Unfortunately someone probably removed the riveted VIN plate from the steering neck which all North American bikes had. that would have given you the year AND month of production.
Your frame is a 1975 frame.
K5 frames had serial numbers starting with CB750-250001. K6 frames started with CB750-2540001...
1973 CB350F -sold
1974 CB350F -218 orig miles, sold
1976 CB750K - in restoration

Other Hondas:
3 x CBX
CB1100R
GB500
Plus Kawasakis, BMws & Ducatis
