Help With Identifying Foot Controls and Fitment Issues

Hello everyone, long time lurker first time poster.

Wanted to see if anyone knew which model and possibly years these foot controls came off of?

I have a ‘76 CB550 and was going to put them on there and see how they felt since they move the feet back about 2 inches and up 1 inch (and I like how they look stock as opposed to the billet aluminum rear sets).  I think the bent kick start would give good clearance and it should work on that side but the big challenge is figuring out the shift linkage and heim joints. Too short of a linkage to bend and also seems like the linkage should be flipped in order to have the correct orientation. Has anyone heard of people using these as a type of, “rear set” and is it even possible to get the linkage to work on a 550 where the foot rest and gear select is offset?

I know this is totally a random and strange question but help would be appreciated and thank you :D

The 550 brake pedal varies with model and exhaust, the only sohc i know of with gearchange linkage like that is the 400
Semi Geriatric ex-Honda mechanic and MOT tester (UK version of annual inspection). Garage full of "projects" mostly 500/4 from pre 73 (no road tax in UK).

 Those are 400F pegs and a 550F kicker. The heim joint on the shifter can be threaded in and out to raide/lower the shifter. One end is reverse thread. Yes, it works better if you flip one end of the heim joint. If the brake pedal hasn't already been bent, you'll need to heat and bend it, too.

Scott S is correct, 400F pegs, linkage, brake lever and 550F kicker.

This is a set up that will allow 400F exhaust on a 350F. It should work on a 550 as well -- the peg mounts are the same, IIRC -- although it also depends on the exhaust. I tried on my '75 550K with a Kerker 4-1 and no dice. The brake lever as it is may protrude a little, as it was meant to clear the 400F's collector.

For the 350F, the linkage is indeed flipped over once, and I usually grind a little off of the ball joint to make it work more smoothly. And the linkage is adjustable in terms of length, there should be enough adjustment to work on the 550 (again, IIRC).

And yes, people use these as sort of semi rear sets witha stock look -- they put the pegs back about 6 inches. I had hoarded about 5 or 6 sets of these but wound up letting them all go when I moved to Mexico.

 There is a locating pin on the frame and a corresponding hole on the pegs. On a couple of occasions, I've had to open up one of the holes just a bit to make them fit. Just the next size up drill bit is all it takes.

I’ve had a 400F for decades, but recently picked up a ‘77 Low-mile 550F.

I bought 400F handlebars from 4into1.com, and just today picked up used 400F oem rearset pegs, shifter, and brake pedal on ebay, so Scott’s thread will be very helpful.

Also planning to do color change from blue to red, a la 400F. (Sorry, purists...)
