Newbie to the CB750 and the forum, not to wrenching.
As a winter project I recently bought a non-running 1972 CB750K (early in the model year - built 11/71, so I understand there may be some K1 bits on it).
De-rusted and RedKote'd the tank, rebuilt and bench-synced the carbs, changed the oil, set the timing - and she fired right up and sounds great! Hooray!!
Now to the issue at hand.
I noticed that the clutch appeared to be fully stuck, no matter what adjustments I made to the cable and clutch-release mechanism.
Pulled the clutch basket out and many drive plates were stuck to the friction plates - as expected, this bike has sat for ~5 years.
The friction plates in the clutch all measure within spec, and I am wondering if they are worth even trying to run or should be replaced. They seem to have much less passages for oil compared to stock, and I have been unable to identify them. Can anyone help ID these and/or give a suggestion on whether they should be usable?
