Photobucket progress, set my photo's free.
« on: November 02, 2019, 12:31:45 PM »
I paid the ransom for my pictures to Photobucket so I could use them for bike of the month. One time only. Then they hit my paypal for a second month, that pizzed me off (I know, that's another thread) Anyway, I searched  android apps and downloaded a free photobucket app. to put them on my cell phone. Now I can move a certain number of photo's a day to my google photo's account which is less user friendly for posting but at least I seem to be in possession of them. I'll see how that works out.
I need to take a computer class for old farts. I managed to tune my Holley efi last year but it was in learn mode for a few races.

No matter how many times you paint over a shadow, it's still there.

 F Photobucket.
A couple of years ago they told me I was running out of storage.  I deleted hundreds of pics, which left dead links in a bunch of old posts.
Then,  they still told me I needed storage. OK... I paid for storage.  Something like 10X the amount I was currently using.
Then, when they started their new program and told me I was out of storage,  I reminded them I paid for XX amount and had only used YY amount.
They said they no longer sell storage that way and it's a yearly/monthly fee. But.... I paid for it and never used it all!
"Sorry.... that's not how we do it now".

Then they started blurring my pics from posts that are years old, essentially holding them hostage until I paid.

Agreed. Phuck 'em. As soon as I rescue the rest of my pics.

I moved over 200 of my pics to my newer phone and then google photos. Then no more would move even after two days so I put the last 24 or so on google drive. I have no idea what any of this means but hopefully I at least have them back in my possession even if Photobucket blurs them in my posts.
The original Micro SD card got lost, probably vacuumed up and tossed.
 Update,
I just cancelled the paypal automatic payment which was supposed to be a one time only payment. Hopefully my photos are now secured elsewhere. If not, that's what it is because they aren't getting monthly extortion payments from me.
