IMD High compression pistons
« on: January 31, 2019, 04:03:05 AM »
IMD pistons for the CB750 are sold on Ebay for a reasonable price and sold in UK.  I am toying with idea to buy the +.5 oversize ones. Their advert says suitable for K1-K8 and standard compression for an F2. My bike is a 78 K8 import from US. The standard piston head ad a small dome and the IMD have a larger dome. The chaps who sell them reckon no other mods are needed to heads to heads or cam.  Has anyone got experience of fitting these or comments to make.

I'm running into the same problem.  I'm trying to use the same pistons on my K7.  I hope somebody has some answers.

This was borrowed from Kenny.....

Originally for F2 vs K valve keepers, but it'll show you why F2 pistons may contact your K head.

I would clay the combustion chamber before running either way. If it says they fit I'd try them. Your 78K should have the 392 head, same as the 75f0 and 76f1.
