Front axle spacers on GL forks.
« on: November 24, 2019, 11:01:49 AM »
We mounted an early GL fork on a 750. Front hub is same part number.
A few days back I measured for spacers and we did not have a Speedo drive in there. Don't plan on running it.
So GL axle and nut, i think nut was on left side, and it looked like i needed about 1/8 spacer on left side. Now I am wondering if GL used a longer spacer ?
The other side was tough to measure but I came up with .94.
So My kid got spacers made at .12 and .94 and he says nothing fits. ...?

So I will go look today and if one side fits Then I can figure out the other. Anyone know if GL uses a different length spacer on the non Speedo side, and is the nut for axle on  left side.

I will look at it in the next few hrs, I can't see that I was way out, I have measured up dozens of bikes for spacers.
If one size fits right and centre's the wheel it gets easier.

Just looked on cmsnl and it shows the nut on speedo drive side and the spacer on opposite side has a 300 middle number so 750 part. Hope that helps
